Planning to Exhibit at WasteExpo?

If you are an Environmental Industry Associations (EIA) member (WASTEC or NSWMA) exhibiting at WasteExpo, please consider an equipment or professional services donation for our upcoming equipment auction or a donation to our Silent Auction.  Many WasteExpo attendees make it a point to visit the auction site, making your contribution both a wonderful source of visibility for you at Expo, and an investment in the future of your industry.

If you are not an EIA member, are not exhibiting at WasteExpo or cannot meet the other RULES criteria for donating equipment and services, please consider a donation to our Silent Auction (see below).

Equipment and Professional Service Donations and Specialty Items...

EIA member donations with a value of $1,000 or more (in accordance with the auction Rules below) will be displayed in a prominent area of EREF's exposition space and each donor company is entitled to a one-page spread in the marketing booklet describing their donated item.  EIA-member equipment donations with a value of less than $1,000 will be included in a silent auction (see Silent Auction below).

Auction donors should submit the Auction Participation Form provided below no later than 6 weeks prior to the date of the auction.  Due to auction booklet production deadlines, it is possible that items donated at the last minute may not be included in the booklet. If this should occur, such donors will be asked to provide details and pictures of their donations for separate distribution. Auction Rules will govern the event and are outlined at the end of this page.  Donations tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Equipment donations provided over the years include:

  • Front and rear loader refuse trucks

  • Hoists with tarping systems

  • Commercial and residential containers

  • Stump cutters

  • Roll-off containers

  • Trailers

  • Rear view camera systems

  • More!

A limited number of unique specialty items, such as leather jackets and fishing trips, are often included in the absolute auction, as well.  Other miscellaneous donations and EIA member equipment or services valued at under $1,000 are sold via a Silent Auction.  To pledge a donation for the upcoming year's auction, download and complete the auction donor form, and fax back to 703-299-5145.

EREF's Auction Booklet, which includes photos and equipment specifications, will be posted  in downloadable pdf format one week prior to the auction, and hard copies will be made available to bidders at the WasteExpo show.

If you are unable to donate equipment, services or specialty items for any of our WasteExpo events, please consider a Sponsorship.

Auction Rules of Participation for Major Equipment Donations

  1. ANNUAL EQUIPMENT AUCTION: The EREF receives substantial support from EIA member companies, and others, at an annual equipment auction held in conjunction with WasteExpo.  These rules provide a framework to enhance the value of the Auction to the donors, the EREF, and WasteExpo.
  1. EIA MEMBERSHIP AND EXHIBITION SPACE: A contributor shall be a member in good standing of the Environmental Industry Associations (EIA) , if eligible for regular membership.

  2. SUPPORT OF WASTEXPO: A donor must purchase floor space at WasteExpo large enough to accommodate the donation, or otherwise support WasteExpo in a manner satisfactory to WasteExpo.  The donor need not display equipment identical to that being auctioned.
  1. EQUIPMENT LIMITATIONS: The equipment value shall not be less than one thousand ($1,000) dollars based on the manufacturer-published list price.  This limit may be adjusted from time to time by the Auction Committee.

  2. TITLE: Contributions to the Foundation are in the form of the proceeds realized from the sale of the donor’s equipment at the auction. All ownership rights and title to equipment shall remain with the donor up to, and until, the donor or its agent transfers title to the successful bidder. Certificates of origin or certificates of title for truck chassis shall be conveyed directly from the equipment donor to the successful bidder and not through the Foundation.

  3. DELIVERY AND SPOTTING: Donor shall be responsible for the costs of delivery of equipment to the equipment marshaling area of WasteExpo, such equipment clearly identified as being for the auction. 2. TAXES: Contributors are responsible for payment of the Federal Excise Tax (FET) and the auction bid will be inclusive of the FET but exclusive of any state and local taxes incident to the sale or transfer of the equipment. The contributor’s list price is not necessarily the estimated value of the equipment, but the list price shall be included in the auction literature.

  3.
