Looking to take on some EARTH DAY projects that would benefit your community and Mother Earth?

Start a group project (supervised and safe) and help clean up...

                ...your local parks
                ...vacant lots
...along streams, lakeshores and stormwater ditches
...along riverbeds and non-busy roadways--adults only

Want to do a little fundraising?  Set a date and get some pledges from family members, friends and local businesses...

                ...per bag of trash
                ...per kilo of trash
...per type of trash (cans, bottles, paper, etc.)
...per designated time picking up trash
...for miscellaneous school related fundraising ideas, click here

Issue a CHALLENGE...

...to neighboring schools for the total number of bags collected or total time volunteered
...to businesses to clean-up around their facilities (including stormwater ditches and along roads) or
                         to Adopt a Highway

Ask your local grocery and hardware stores and transportation authorities to donate...

...rubber and leather gloves (very important)
...trash bags, ties, and labels to mark bags of recyclables
...safety cones and traffic signs (think SAFETY first)
                ...refreshments for volunteers
                ...transportation for volunteers
                ...removal of bagged waste

If your area grocery stores provide cash refunds for cans, bottles and recyclable containers, collect these items and see how much money can be raised for contribution to a charity organization.

Interested in learning about how to reduce waste?  Check out the "Reducing Waste" section of our Educational Activity #1, and take part in other waste related activities.

Join Us!  Is your school or organization interested in adopting us as your official environment-oriented charity?  Schools and organizations wishing to help raise funds for EREF for its waste and recycling research and education projects and environmental science scholarships will receive recognition through our various pledge drives and fund raising activities, and pictures of their fund raising and environmental efforts will be posted on our website, in our newsletter and at our conferences nationwide.  We will also provide your organization with an official Certificate of Support, which will be signed by our president and chairman of the board.  Click here for a sampling of non-waste related fundraising ideas.

Visit our site page entitled Grants Program for some examples of waste and recycling topics.
Visit the official Earth Day website at www.earthday.net for other project ideas.

"Thank you" for your voluntary efforts.  Remember...every day should be an Earth Day!
