Winning The War Against Waste, with accompanying teaching unit. This documentary
highlights waste disposal technologies being used in both developed and
developing
countries. The project is complete. Distribution of
video and DVD versions with Lesson Plan to middle school science
educators occurred in July 2002. The documentary aired on over
100 U.S. Public Broadcasting Stations from April 2003 to 2004.

training sessions on reducing ergonomic risks to the solid waste
employee. Attendance was open to all public and
private-sector employees in the solid waste industry. One- and two-day programs were offered in 2001 in
Houston, Tex. (January), Chicago, Ill. (April), Atlanta, Ga. (June),
and Tarrytown, N.Y. (November).

to develop a global assessment of recycling policies and markets. The NCSU researchers
collected data in the United States, Europe and
Asia. The study was completed in September
2004.
