PROJECT SCOPE

This report describes the methodology and modeling approaches used to define a Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) of a modern municipal solid waste (MSW) landfill.  

The Goal provides background information and defines the project objectives.  The section also lists the organizations and individuals involved in the project.

The Type of Landfill Considered described the type of landfill considered in the project.

The Study System Boundaries explains the general methodology for setting system boundaries as well as the boundaries considered in the project.

The Inventory Flows Considered outlines environmental flows considered for the LCI.

The Temporal Issues addresses how emissions occurring over a long period of time were resolved.

The Data Collection and Data Quality Goals outlines the sources of data used as well as the data quality procedures.
