Philadelphia
Tramrail Company was founded in 1907 by Charles B. Leonard, and
was subsequently purchased by Mr. Riethmiller's grandfather in
1929. Originally a manufacturer of monorails and meat
track systems, Philadelphia Tramrail expanded to engineer and
manufacture hydraulic down stroke balers and compactors in the
early 1970s. In 1999, its overhead crane division was sold
to Morris Material Handling Company to allow the company to
focus on its leadership in the baler and compactor industry.
The
Environmental Research and Education Foundation is a non-profit
organization that funds the development of environmental
solutions through research and education, focusing on the waste
and recycling industries. Its endowment provides the
financial base for a sustainable series of significant projects
and scholarships (www.erefdn.org).
