Republic Services Regional Vice President Elected to
Secretary-Treasurer of Environmental Research and Education Foundation

Alexandria, Va. - Kevin Walbridge was elected on December 13, 2002 to Secretary-Treasurer of the Board of the Environmental Research and Education Foundation (EREF) based in Alexandria, Virginia. EREF is a non-profit organization that funds the development of environmental solutions through research and education.  His election to Secretary-Treasurer is for a one-year term; his election as a board director is for a three-year term.

Mr. Walbridge joined Republic Services, Inc. in June 1997, serving as Regional Vice President - Central Region (Indianapolis, Ind.).  He is currently a member of the National Solid Wastes Management Association (NSWMA) Executive Committee (Washington, D.C.), and serves on the boards of Ball State University Business School (Muncie, Ind.) and the Detachable Container Association (Keswick, Va.).  Past positions have included vice president of operations, National Serv-All (Fort Wayne, Ind.; 1996), president, Waste Management of Alameda County (Oakland, Calif.; 1993-1996), and division president, Empire Waste Management (Santa Rosa, Calif.; 1988-1993).  Mr. Walbridge was first elected to the EREF Board in January 2002.

Mr. Walbridge is a 1982 graduate of Ball State University, receiving degrees in Business and Natural Resources.
